What is Office Based Addiction Treatment?

The Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Program is one way to help those with opioid addiction recover their lives. There are three equally important parts to this form of treatment that Logansport Memorial Hospital’s program uses and follows:

  • Medication
  • Counseling
  • Support from family and friends

The consequences of untreated addiction can be tragic for the individual, family, and community. Logansport Memorial Hospital’s OBAT program is here to help individuals suffering from opioid addiction.

Opioid addiction is a chronic disease like heart disease or diabetes, that affects the user’s brain. A chronic brain disease like opioid addiction is a medical condition that can last for a person’s entire life. However, by managing the addiction, a person can regain a healthy, productive life.

Most people cannot just walk away from opioid addiction. They need help.

The Office Based Addiction Treatment team recognizes this is a difficult time and that change is hard. Together, we hope to help you build skills to become successful in recovery. How you implement the changes to your behavior and lifestyle will be a combination of learning the necessary skills to manage uncomfortable feelings and situations, prevent relapse, and build a network that will support your recovery.

No referral is needed, individuals or family/friends of an individual can call (574) 725-3485 to enroll in the program.
